Admiral (T90 Pellets): Bittering, Alpha Acid: 10.5 %. Citrusy and orangy aroma. Typical Brewing Style: Ales, lagers. Possible substitutions: Target, Northdown, Challenger.
Apollo (T90 Pellets): Bittering, Alpha Acid: 18.0 %. Aromatic and pleasant herbal aroma. Typical Brewing Style: Ales, Stouts, and Barley Wine. Possible substitutions: Nugget, Galena, and Magnum.
Brewers Gold (T90 Pellets): Dual Purpose, Alpha Acid: 8.7 %. Blackcurrant, fruity , and spicy aroma. Typical Brewing Styles: Ales, Pilsners & Lambics. Possible Substitutions: Chinook, Galena, Nugget.
Calypso (T90 Pellets): Dual Purpose, Alpha Acid 12.0 – 14.3 %. Pleasantly complex, fruity aroma, with hints of pear, apple, and notes of earthy tea. Typical Brewing Styles: Ales, Stouts and Barley Wines. Possible Substitutions: Simcoe.
Cascade (T90 Pellets): Aroma, Alpha Acid: 5.9 %. Flowery, citrusy grapefruit aroma. Typical brewing styles: American-Style Ales, Pale Ale, IPA, Porter, & Barley wines. Possible Substitutions: Centennial and Amarillo.
Centennial (T90 Pellets): Dual Purpose, Alpha Acid: 9.2 %. One of the three “C” hops, classic American style with pungent citrus-like and floral notes, not quite as bitter Cascade and more floral. Typical Brewing Styles: American pale ales and IPA. Possible Substitutions: Amarillo, Cascade, Columbus, Summit.
Challenger (T90 Pellets): Dual Purpose, Alpha Acid: 6.7 %. Fine aroma with spicy fresh pine scent. Typical Brewing Styles: English style Ale, Porter, Stout, ESB, Bitter. Possible Substitutions: Perle, Admiral.
Columbus (T90 Pellets) : Bittering, Alpha Acid: 13.6 %. Intense & pungent, citrusy punchy and bold. Typical Brewing Styles: US IPA, US Pale Ale, Stout, Barley Wine, Lager (bittering). Possible Substitutions: Chinook, Galena, Nugget.
Czech Saaz (T90 Pellets): Aroma, Alpha Acid 3.2 %. A very mild aroma with plesant hoppy notes. Typical brewing use – Pilsner, Lagers, Blegian-Style Ales, Lambic. Imported Hop from Czechoslovakia. Possible Substitutions: Tettnang, Spalt, Ultra.
First Gold (UK) (T90 Pellets): Aroma, Alpha Acid: 8.0 %. Fragrant & pleasant, similar to E. K. Goldings, slightly spicy. Typical brewing use – all English-style Ales. Imported from the UK. Possible Substitutions: E.K. Goldings, Crystal.
Fuggle (UK) (T90 Pellets): Aroma, Alpha Acid 4.5 %. Mild, pleasant, hoppy. Typical brewing use – All English-style Ales, ESB, Bitter, Lager, & Lambic. Imported Variety from the UK. Possible Substitutions: Willamette, Styrian Golding, Tettnanger, Newport.
GR Hersbrucker (Germany) (T90 Pellets): Aroma, Alpha Acid: 2.3 %, Beta Acid: 8.8%. Mild, grassy, hay, pleasant semi-strong hoppy aroma. Typical brewing styles – Lager, Pilsner, Bock, Weizen Bock, Wheat, Belgian-Style Ales, Kolsch, Munich Helles. Possible Substitutions: Liberty, Tettnanger, Mt. Hood, Hallertauer Mittlefruh.
Hallertau (Germany) (T90 Pellets): Aroma, Alpha Acid: 5.3 %. Mild, clean spicy floral scent. Typical brewing styles – Lager, Pilsner, Bock, Kölsch, Munich Helles, Belgian-Style Ales. Possible Substitutions: Liberty, Tettnanger, Mt. Hood.
Nugget (T90 Pellets): Dual Purpose, Alpha Acid: 12.0-14.2 %. Herbal with pear and peach notes. Typical brewing styles – Ales, Stout, Barley Wine. Possible Substitutions: Chinook, Galena, Cluster, Warrior, Brewers Gold, Eroica, Millenium.
Perle (Germany) (T90 Pellets): out of stock Dual Purpose, Alpha Acid: 8.6%.Floral & slightly spicy aroma . Typical brewing styles – Pale Ale, Porter, Stout, Lager, Weizen, Alt, Barley Wine, Kölsch. Possible Substitutions: Challenger, Northern Brewer.
Summit (T90 Pellets): Dual Purpose, Alpha Acid: 14.2 %. A relatively new hop variety similar to Simcoe, Summit sports a citrus, grape-fruit, orange, and tangerine flavours. Very strong flavours. Used for bittering and dry hopping. Typical brewing styles – IPAs, Imperial IPAs. Possible Substitutions: Simcoe, Amarillo, Cascade.
Super Galena (T90 Pellets): Dual Purpose, Alpha Acid: 12.0 %. Citrusy Aroma. A good bittering hop with pleasant aroma. Super Galena is comparable to Galena in its aroma and bitterness profile. Typical brewing styles – English Styles and American Ales. Possible Substitutions: Brewer’s Gold, Columbus, Nugget.
Tettnanger (T90 Pellets): out of stock Aroma, Alpha Acid: 4.0 %. Mild, pleasant, slightly spicy aroma. Typical brewing styles – Lager, Ales, Pilsner, Weizen, Lambic, Alt, Kolsh, & Munich Helles. Possible Substitutions: Hallertau, Liberty, Fuggle.
UK Kent Goldings (T90 Pellets): Dual Purpose, Alpha Acid: 5.6 %. A classic English style hop. Excellent for the kettle or dry hopping. Slightly sweet and floral. Possible Substitutions: Fuggle, Progress, First Gold.
US Magnum (T90 Pellets): Bittering, Alpha Acid: 11.6 %. High alpha acid hop with a clean, neutral bitterness. Can be used in almost any recipe. Clean floral aroma. Typical brewing use as a bittering hop for all Ales and Lagers. Possible Substitutions: Horizon, Newport.
Cascade (Leaf): Aroma, Alpha Acid: 8.8%. Flowery, citrusy grapefruit aroma. Typical brewing styles – American-Style Ales, Pale Ale, IPA, Porter, & Barley wines. Possible Substitutions: Centennial and Amarillo.
