Bush Vine Grenache is harvested from vines that have earned their place in history by being old enough to be able to achieve complex profiles from the terroir from years of sustained growth. Flam buoyantly aggressive, this full-bodied wine is based on a strong structure of powerful fruit, heavy toasted oak and loads of earthy/spicy needs. Deep garnet in colour, this wine is fermented on toasted Hungarian oak staves and Winery Grape Skins to bring out the rich flavours of prunes, fine black pepper and chewy tannins. The finish is abound with smoky undertones and is expressively persistent.

Co-fermentation of Shiraz with Viognier is a traditional winemaking technique. The addition of Viognier gives a perfumed dimension and embraces the aggressive and complex characteristics of the Shiraz. The resulting blend is a full-bodied, deep garnet red wine with a complex nose of violets, spices and rich American oak.  Integrated flavours of berries,  chocolates and spices are framed by tight knit, chewy tannins, creating a long and dramatic palate.

Recognized as a premier grape growing region, California is known for intensely flavourful Pinot Noirs. This wine is a classic example of the spicy nature of the Cabernet Sauvignon, high alcohol producing, rustic qualities of Malbec and the deep colour of Carmenère. Richer and fuller than traditional Italian Chianti, this robust red wine will be a proud addition to any winemaker’s cellar. Chianti is made with a base of the Sangiovese grape, which is best grown in a hot, dry climate such as Tuscany. The result is a dry, fruity red with medium to full body. This is a complex wine with spicy black and red cherry aroma and notes of chocolate. A fine young wine but time lends grace and subtlety to this masterpiece.

ARGENTINE MALBEC

The Argentine Malbec has found uniquely favourable growing conditions in Argentina and has no doubt created one of the most successful and delicious Malbec wines in the world. A combination of desert climate, cold nights, and irrigation of eternal snows from the Andes, creates an especially healthy environment for these vines. An intense bouquet of damson plums, blackcurrant and violet aromas give way to a slight touch of hunting and leather notes. This richly purple coloured Malbec carries a velvety texture with long, soft flavours. Although it ages beautifully, firm tannins and mellow acidityallow this wine to be enjoyed while young.

AUSTRALIAN CABERNET SAUVIGNON

AUSTRALIAN CABERNET SHIRAZ

AUSTRALIAN GRENACHE/SHIRAZ/MOURVÈDRE

The blending of these three grapes is a classic, originating in the South of France where Côtes du Rhone and Chateauneuf du Pape concentrate on these varieties. The small, thick skinned berries are deep blue-black in colour, high in extract, flavour, aroma and tannin.

AUSTRALIAN SHIRAZ

The grape that was made for Down Under – its hot climate perfec for bringing out the best traits in this popular grape varietal. Australian Shiraz is seductively delicious, with startlingly rich, ripe aromas that deliver right through to the full zesty finish. Amazingly, the style allows for polished tannins early, so the young wine is not rough or harsh. The aged version retains the core fruit flavours of plums, cherries and blackberries, but gains extra polish. Pair this Shiraz with flavourful meals!

CHILEAN CABERNET SAUVIGNON

CHILEAN CARMENÈRE

Deep crimson, with dark cherry aroma, red fruits and berry notes running to a smoky, spicy finish with notes of dark chocolate and tobacco. With medium body and moderate tannins, Carmenre drinks well young and improves with age.

Drink with grilled beef, pizza, or dark chocolate.

CHILEAN MERLOT

CHILEAN PINOT NOIR

Winexpert’s Selection International Series Chilean Pinot Noir is a bright ruby colour with delicate aromas of red berry flavours. Medium bodied and supple with a hint of herbiness, the mouth feel is very elegant with soft tannins and a subtle oak finish. Vibrant and food friendly, this wine is excellent with salmon, roast beef and lamb.

FRENCH CABERNET SAUVIGNON

FRENCH MERLOT

ITALIAN AMARONE

Italian Amarone is a very intense and complex wine, with a wide array of flavours and aromas. Deep ruby red, this heavyweight wine exudes aromas of sour cherries, dark chocolate, stewed plums, dried fruits, anise, raisins, bitter almond, tobacco, leather and molasses, and has a spicy-earthy bittersweet finish that lengthens on indefi nitely from the huge volume of tannins. Delightful with food, Italian Amarone is often enjoyed by itself, sipped outside of mealtimes with good conversation and good friends.

ITALIAN MONTEPULCIANO

Montepulciano is a vigorous red grape variety widely planted over much of east-central Italy, capableof creating deeply coloured, rich red wines with blackberry fruit flavours and spicy, peppery tannin levels. Montepulciano generally produces wines that are smooth and mellow yet robust and mouth filling, with dependably high alcohol content. Superb with veal and pasta an Italian gem you won’t want to miss.

ITALIAN SANGIOVESE

NEW ZEALAND PINOT NOIR
