Description

50 grams.

Uses: Yeast Nutrient (AKA diammonium phosphate) is added to fermentations to increase yeast activity. Nitrogen compounds such as diammonium phosphate are vital to yeast metabolism. Should be added at beginning of fermentation, but could also be added towards the end of a slow or stuck fermentation. Ensures quick and thorough fermentation. Add 0.75 gram per L to wineOften used in yeast starters for beer making.

Directions: Add 1/2 teaspoon per 3.8 L (1 gallon), 3 teaspoons per 23 L (5 gallons). 5 mL (one teaspoon) = approximately 4.5 g.

Hint: Using more than the recommended amount gives an unpleasant ammonia smell. Yeast energizer is a better choice in most circumstances because it contains extra vitamins and minerals to promote yeast vigour.

Composition: Diammonium phosphate and B vitamins.
