Description
Also known as a Mash Tun Screen, it can be used inside a brew pot to strain out the hops & other solids, or in a mash tun as an alternative to a false bottom. Some home brewers also use it as a mash tun screen under the false bottom. This creates an extra layer of filtration.
A welded stainless steel screen, it can be slipped over your racking cane or keg dip tube and filters out fruit or dry hops from the fermenter as well as whole hops and trub from the kettle. Also allows dry hopping to be done directly in the keg.
Very rigid construction. Extremely corrosion-resistant and easy to sanitize but do not use bleach! Careful when using it with plastic racking tubes or plastic fermenters; it can cause scratching and possibly infection.
Pellet hops have a tendency to clog the pure screen; it works far better with whole hops.
