Anti-Foaming agents decrease surface tension, preventing foam formation. It is used on the hot side to prevent boil overs. On the cold side it is used for primary fermentation to keep the krausen level down. This increases bitterness in the beer by about 10%.
Trade names go under Fermcap or Defoamer 105.
Directions: Add 1-2 drops per gallon. Do not freeze.
